Contract Type: Fixed Term (18 months), Full Time

Job Summary
This role is responsible for the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of a broad range of talent development frameworks, programs, tools, events and resources that will aid in the successful certification of future CPAs as well as career advancement for accounting professionals in every stage of their career. Through thought leadership and collaboration with other stakeholders, this role provides solutions that respond to organizational needs and supports the achievement of business objectives for employer partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, Planning, and Evaluation
- Collaborate with management on establishing the annual strategy and key performance metrics (KPMs) to measure impact of talent development and mentorship activities and monitor and report on progress throughout the year;
- Develop tools and resources for job seekers that support career planning and development;
- Lead and execute engagement strategies for the talent market on matters relating to career transitions, job search, interviewing techniques, communication skills, resume writing, etc.;
- Connect professional accounting talent with opportunities that align with their education, skills and career aspirations;
Engagement and Communications
- Contribute to the daily management of the CPABC Careers Site, supporting job seekers and employers.
- Develop communications to promote the CPABC Careers Site to all audiences;
- Track and monitor user activity and offer recommendations on how to address market trends.
- Advise job seekers on their job search, including sharing best practices, resume reviewing, etc.;
- Keep current on advances in the delivery of online job boards and collaborate with licensing and hosting providers to improve website content, reporting and user experience;
- Manage quarterly communications to candidates and mentors and maintain clear and concise candidate and mentor web page content;
- Collaborate with other departments to identify, develop, and lead communication strategies and promote event participation and awareness (via email, web, print, social, etc.);
- Stay abreast of changes and trends in the professional accounting field, including pathways to designation, while continuously developing knowledge in the areas of career development;
Resource Development
- Enhance learner supports through proactive engagement; this will involve participating in efforts to assess, design, develop and implement resources to support learners in the completion of their CPA practical experience requirements successfully and in a timely manner;
- Develop and present skill building workshops on talent development and career development topics for job seekers and mentors;
- Contribute to the development of new events that grow awareness of diverse career paths;
- Lead and coordinate event planning materials and logistics;
- Evaluate feedback and other program metrics, providing results and recommendations to leadership for improving future initiatives; and
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
Key Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Post-secondary degree in business, leadership, human resources, organizational development, adult education or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
- Five (5) plus years of relevant experience developing and implementing talent development solutions, in an academic or career advising capacity;
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively, build credibility and strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels in the organization;
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to accomplish a variety of tasks and activities to deadlines;
- Strength in problem solving, driving business change, and advancing continuous improvement
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills;
- Strong PC literacy with demonstrated MS office experience;
- A growth mindset and ability to adapt to address evolving priorities;
- Ability to attend / host some evening and occasional weekend events, with potential travel within BC up to 30% of the time;
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience creating, editing and curating content for newsletters, social media and blog posts would be an asset;
- Prior experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a relational-database would be preferred;
- Prior experience administering or working within job board platforms would be preferred;
- Holding a valid BC Driver’s License would be beneficial for this role.
The starting salary range for this position is $66,550 - 79,000 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
