Job Summary
The Communications Specialist supports and delivers CPABC’s social media strategy and contributes to the day-to-day management of CPABC’s social media platforms, working under the direction of the Director, Communications. In addition, this role is also responsible for executing various communications campaigns; supporting CPABC’s corporate sponsorships; and producing multimedia assets to promote CPABC, its mandate, and mission. This role operates as an individual contributor and delivers communications work within established strategies, guidelines, and approvals, with strategic direction provided by the Director, Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver CPABC’s social media strategy
Generate engaging social media content and oversee CPABC’s social media content calendar to promote CPABC’s thought leadership, recruitment, and branding content. Content generation includes social copy, graphics, short-form videos, and audio clips.
Manage CPABC’s social media community by monitoring and engaging with incoming messages and comments and staying aware of any mentions of the profession across platforms.
Manage relationships with content collaborators and ideate and direct content direction.
Recommend paid social tactics in support of approved campaigns and profession priorities.
Provide social media coverage at events, including Infinite Conference, Convocation, Member Recognition, and recruitment events.
Work with the Director, Communications to assess and refine social media tactics by reviewing performance metrics, benchmarking results, and incorporating current trends.
Provide analysis and recommendations to the Director, Communications, and VP, External Affairs & Communications on social media messages and emerging issues, as appropriate.
Execute CPABC’s marketing & communications strategy
Design visually appealing presentations for CPABC’s president & CEO and other senior executives.
Support content optimization efforts related to AIO/SEO and user experience, in collaboration with the Director, Communications and Manager, Web Content.
Work with the Senior Graphics Designer in the ideation and production of digital-focused campaigns.
Coordinate sponsorship logistics, including securing RSVPs, creating sponsorship materials, and finalizing scripts. Support other sponsorships as needed.
Support other communications needs, including attending video and photoshoots, as required.
And other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, which may include work outside of regular work hours.
Key Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
Three (3) plus years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, or a similar role;
Post-secondary education in Arts, Business, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent education;
Proven professional experience using social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads) and social media content management systems (e.g. Emplifi, Sprout, Hootsuite);
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities
Intermediate level proficiency with graphic design (e.g. Canva) and video editing (e.g. Edits, Capcut, or similar) applications;
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Acrobat Professional;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority;
Exceptional organizational and time management; able to prioritize under pressure;
Sound critical thinking and problem solving skills;
Ability to manage multiple priorities, reprioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure;
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, and independently with minimal supervision;
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloude suite (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Auditions) would be preferred;
Experience with web and basic HTML coding (e.g. WordPress) would be beneficial.
The starting annual salary for this position is between $67,800 – 80,450 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
